The Swiss Society for Infectious Diseases (SSI) and the Swiss Academic Foundation for Education in Infectious Diseases (SAFE-ID) awarded prizes in clinical and basic research through equal contributions by the Societies. The first prize in each category was rewarded with CHF 8’000.-, the 2nd and 3rd one with CHF 5’000.- and 2’000.- respectively.

- 3rd prize Stephan Harbarth for the work „Effect of 5-Day Nitrofurantoin vs Single-Dose Fosfomycin on Clinical Resolution of Uncomplicated Lower Urinary Tract Infection in Women” (JAMA).
